Writers Tips - An Introduction

Hello fellow writers!

I have decided to write some generic tips for writing. These can be for writing novels, poems, lyrics ... anything. The tips can be applied to any area so every hint can hopefully be relatable to every writer.
I am also hoping to have author contributions from published authors just to help us unpublished folk.

Writing can be such a daunting thing, especially when procrastination or writers block kicks in! These are things I have faced and I'm sure many published authors have too. So an aim for this page is to help get past these set backs and produce a publishable piece of work.

I started writing seriously about a month ago, after dreaming of a plot line and deciding to turn it into a novel. I am also a lyric writer, mainly for my band @In_Your_Honour but also to just release feelings and thoughts. Prior to this I've also tried my hand at poetry and short stories.

Another use for good writing skills, I find, is reviewing and blogging. I now do both as hobbies after starting my novel. I find reviewing a lot of fun and write for two music magazines; Live Music Magazine UK and Loud-Stuff. You have already stumbled across my blog so no need to dwell! You can see what I do with my blog and I would suggest all writers have one because they are fantastic, not only for practice of your writing skills, but also great for networking.

Through this page of sharing writing tips I am not claiming to be a genius at it and it is of my belief that everyone has their own styles and rituals when it comes to creating. But I think some generic tips are always sought after from time to time. A few things I have in mind to cover are:
  • The Workspace
  • The Research
  • The Plan
  • The Character Profile
  • The Confidence
  • The Authors Tips
I am sure more ideas will come to me as I continue with this blog page, discuss with other authors and also proceed with my novel.

If you would like to find out more about my personal process with my own novel I would advise visiting my friends blog where I have my own article all about me! This friend has been my support through writing and my inspiration to carry on. So please do see what she has to say and follow my process: http://lizlovesbooks.com/lizlovesbooks/from-the-very-beginning-meet-amie/
Otherwise, follow me here on my blog and twitter @amieblinks :)

In conclusion then, I don't know how long this guide (shall we call it) will go on for, but I hope that each visit will help you with your writing and you gain something per view :)

Please do feel free to leave any comments below including your own tips you wouldlike to share. I am also more than happy to answer any questions as we go along.

Enjoy and thank you for visiting.
